Taekwondo is a Korean Martial Art for men, women, children, and families of all ages. Taekwondo is the worlds most popular, most exciting, most practiced martial art the world over with over 110 million registered participants. Its official world headquarters, the mecca of Taekwondo, is called the "Kukkiwon" and is located in Seoul South Korea. Taekwondo, also an Official Olympic Sport is characterized by its emphasis on dynamic head height jumping and spinning kicks and its other fast kicking foot techniques. Taekwondo was developed to be a method of unparalleled self defense in unarmed combat. But in our modern times it is more than a physical skill, it is a way of life, thought, and behavior.
